This morning Oakley bowlers were again at Howard Park as Diane Yarrell, Anji Smith and Laura Butler took on Farnborough in the Final of the North Hampshire Women's BA Triples. For Diane and Anji it was their first time in a NHWBA Final but they showed no signs of nerves as Oakley took a 7-1 lead after 6 ends. Large scores were at a premium and at 13 ends Oakley still led 10-7. Scores for Farnborough of two and three took them into the lead for the first time and, as play entered the last end of a particularly slow game that took almost 3.5 hours, Oakley trailed 11-13. Needing a two to take the match into an extra end Oakley could manage only a single so Farnborough are the 2021 Champions but it was a plucky effort by Oakley on what was a very hot morning. Well done everyone.
