PREPARING FOR 2026

Yesterday afternoon saw our contractors descend on the green to carry out the end of season work necessary to ensure the green continues in 2026 to be a high quality surface. It was all so different to when club members struggled to carry out the work. Eight Avonmore employees, who never seemed to get in each others way, soon completed the scarication, hollow coring and slit tining whilst, at the same time transporting into the green the 6 tonnes of top dressing. This morning, as dawn broke, they were back at the green, seeding, spraying and applying the dressing and by 9 am they had gone. It was fascinating to observe. Next autumn, we may sell tickets!!
