There were mixed fortunes for the three Oakley players who were selected to represent Hampshire on Saturday in the inter county knock out events. In the Middleton Cup, played at Worthng Pavilion, both Ashley Nethercliffe and Leigh Allen led on losing rinks as Hampshire, after a bright start, crashed out of the competition, losing to Kent 107-143.

For Alice Lovett it was a happier day, as, at Pewsey Vale in the Johns Trophy, the rink in which she led for Margaret Holden was successful and helped Hampshire to come back from a 17 shot deficit at 10 ends to beat Berkshire by 127-110. In the Regional Final, on August 7th, Hampshire will play the holders Surrey for a place at Leamington.
