HOWARD PARK BOGEY CONTINUES

The Howard Park green has, this year, not been Oakley's favourite place for playing Finals and so it proved again this afternoon. In extremely hot conditions, Laura Butler (who like one of the opponents had played one match already) and Valerie Ryan took on Alton Social in the final of the North Hampshire Women's BA's McFauld Pairs - played over 12 ends. The Oakley pair started well leading 5-0 after 3 ends but by 7 ends the scores were tied at 6-6. Alton Social then scored five shots in 3 ends giving them a big advantage in such a short format. Oakley clawed back three shots but it was not enough as they lost 11-13. Another near miss but congratulations on reaching the Final.
