A busy morning on Sunday for Oakley saw our men’s team losing to Basingstoke Town in the semi final of the Hants and Berks Cup. Played at Kingsclere., the club of District President, Bob French, Town were missing players involved in Couny Finals but had the better of the early stages and looked on course for a comfortable win until an Oakley recovery saw Towns lead reduced to 2 shots with a total of 8 ends to play However the recovery did not last and Town ran out deserved winner, going on to lift the cup after a comfortable victory over the howard Park who had beaten Old basing in the other semi- final. Thanks go to Kingsclere for their hospitality and especially for the bacon rolls
Thanks go also to our members who this morning were unable to come along and support as they were at our green welcoming visitors to our second Open Day of the season. It was a successful exercise and we look forward to seeing the newly recruited members on the green,
