Saturday saw the Club staging its first one day event of the season - the Drawn Two Wood Pairs with the opportunity to collect at the Club Dinner the prestigious Malshanger Bowl, donated by the late Sir Michael and Lady Colman. With teams divided into two leagues, there was some close games and a few surprise results. In the Blue League it was Peter Pearce and Ted Trantum who qualified for the final whilst Jim Weldon and Bob Goodyear came through in the Red League. The final was a nail biter with the scores tied at the conclusion of the final end. When, with his first bowl of the extra end, Peter nailed the jack it seemed likely his team would triumph but, with his final bowl, Bob rubbed in for shot to give him and Jim the title. Congratulations to both finalists, to all who participated and to those involved with the organisation. Sadly a camera malfunction meant we are unable to display photos of the event.
