This morning, at Longmeadow IBC, Oakley played the second of four matches in the Moreton Cup aainst BTC from Southampton. Oakley retained only 5 players from the previous game and fielded 2 different skips. The new combinations took time to settle, but by 5 ends Oakley had a narrow 4 shot advantage and the lead increased gradually as the match progressed although by 15 ends the advantage had only increased to 12 shots.. However, there was no late rally from BTC and Oakley emerged victorious by 53-33. Scores: Gerald Norris, Jim Dixon, Sean Lassman and Steve Devonish won 31-13; Jamie Fewtrell, John Yarrall, Malcolm Grime and Bob Goodyear won 22-20.
