After 3 wins already in the National Double Rink competition, Oakley travelled this morning to nearest rivals Howard Park looking to secure a place in the County last eights. The match was close initially and at halfway only 6 shots separated the teams. The next 3 ends, however, saw Oakley take control as they increased their lead to 16 shots. There was now no way back for Howard Park and with 5 ends left to play overall they conceded the match with Oakley leading 39-16.. Oakley scores: Steve Devonish, Malcolm Grime, Sean Lassman and Martin Vickers won 18-8; Gary Newson, Jim Dixon, Gerald Norris and Graham Tompkins won 21-8.
