After 11 ends in today's match, Oakley held a commanding 16 shot lead over Hook and, with stormy weather very close, hopes were high that we would soon be back in the pavilion. How wrong could we be? A stunning fight back from Hook saw them level the match with both fours having one end to play but somehow Oakley hung on to win 36-31. Oakley scores: Mary Varndell, Jim Dixon, Janie Vickers and Bob Goodyear won 26-10, Wendy Aherne, Angie Rowe, Gerald Norris and Spencer Kerley lost 10-21.
