DISAPPOINTMENT IN DISTRICT TRIPLES

This evening at Basingstoke Towm, the Oakley Triple of Sean Lassman, Bob Goodyear and Ashley Nethercliffe took on Old Basing in the semi-final of the Basingstoke and District Triples. Given their successes this year in County Competitions, Oakley probably started as favourites but Old Basing at half way led 10-4 and although Oakley kept building good heads, Basing's skip Martin Cullis had one of those evenings when every shot he played, good or bad, came off and after 16 ends with the score 27-8 in Basing's favour Oakley conceded the Match. For Sean and Bob they have tomorrow another chance to reach a District Final when they play the semi-final of the District Two Wood Triples.
