Dame Fortune was on the Club's side today. With the forecast being for a wet afternoon and having experienced heavy overnight rain hopes were not high for a successful club BBQ but, in the event, the morning dawned dry and the volunteers, led by Captain Ric, were able to set up the gazebos etc without getting wet. By the afternoon, when members began to arrive, the sun was out and although it was a little windy all were able to sit out in the sunshine, participate in the many games and competitions and then listen to Jade from BATS as she sang "Songs from The Shows". It was now time to eat and we are grateful to the team of ladies led by Sandra and to Smiffy's Kitchen (Martin and Terry) for providing us with excellent fare. Thanks go also to Sean and new member Marilyn for keeping us "watered" throughout the afternoon with even Pimms being available at a bargain price! Events like today do not just happen and our thanks go to all those who organised games, ran raffles and behind the scenes helped in so many ways. It was a fun afternoon and the Treasurer went home a happy man.
