After her early morning win in the quarter final of the National Junior Singles at Leamington, Oakley's Alice Lovett faced a difficult task in the semi final, when looking to go one stage further than Nicole Rogers in 2018. Up against current England International Rachel Tremlett of Hertfordshire Alice surged out of the blocks and led 18-5 only to drop successive fours before a 3 took her into the National Final. Against Kat Bowman of Leicestershire, Alice did not reproduce her earlier form and lost 21-10 but it was an amazing achievement to be the National Runner Up and Alice should be immensely pleased with her performance. Oakley is so proud of her and let us hope her efforts will be recognised by selectors. Alice was not, however, the only Oakley player participating today at Leamington. Ashley Nethercliffe paired up with Alton Social's Reece Graham was taking part in the Junior Pairs and they too had a good day. In the first round they overcame berkshire 21-15 and then beat Lancashire 14-11 to reach tthe quarter final. Good luck tomorrow boys. All of us on tour will be watching your results.
