The last week has seen members working very hard to prepare our facilities for the formal opening of the green on the 17th April. Tasks already completed include the jet washing of almost 600 slabs as well as the area in front of the pavilion, re-staining the flower tubs, seeding the area from which the Hornbeam hedge was removed, cutting the large area of grass outside the hedge and cleaning the pavilion carpet. Work has also begun on the final piece of hedge cutting and on replacing all the 240 pins on which the rink markers hang. Shortly work will begin on tidying the flower beds and there is much more planned for completion over the next 3 weeks. The Club is enormously grateful to all those volunteers who are involved with this work and, of course, to those who, whilst this has been going on, have kept up the important maintenance of the green itself. Thank you everyone.
