This morning was Oakley's second visit, this season, to Fleet United in team competitions. The team showed three changes from the side that beat Andover and, once again, Oakley began slowly. After 5 ends Fleet led 8-5 but the game changed dramatically on the 7th and 8th ends as Oakley scored 13 unanswered shots. By 10 ends Oakley led 27-14. This lead remained at this level for the next six ends and although, on the last two ends, Fleet scored well they had left themselves too much to do and Oakley won 34-31. Scores: Sue Dixon, Jim Dixon, Janie Vickers and Graham Tompkins lost 13-17; Mary Varndell, Jamie Fewtrell, Angie Rowe and Fred Norris won 21-14.
