WOODPECKERS ALSO CHAMPIONS

When last night we acclaimed the Oakley Buzzards success in winning Division 1 of the Whitchurch League, it was still unclear how the Oakley Woodpeckers had finished in Division 3. A result appeared to be missing from the published League table, The final and up to date table is, however, now available and the Woodpeckers have, for the second year running, gained promotion. In addition they have been crowned champions winning the league by a clear 7.5 points. Congratulations go to Sue Dixon and her team, some of whom were present this morning at the Club Finals and appear in the photo. Next season the Woodpeckers will replace the Kingfishers in Division 2 as sadly they were relegated and as the same fate befell the Kites we shall in 2018 have a team in all four Divisions of the Whitchurch League.
