The Basingstoke and District BA Presentation Dinner took place on Friday at the Masonic Hall in the town and was, as usual, well supported by Oakley members, who provided over a third of the attendees. Oakley, almost invariably, has the highest turn out and this year, following the Club's most successful season in District competitions, there was plenty to cheer. Oakley members won the Singles, Pairs, Two Wood Triples, Fours and Over 60s Pairs and were runner up in the Novice Singles. Pictured with the trophies are Bob Goodyear, Terry Heath, Ric Newson, Spencer Kerley and Terry Varndell. Sadly Ted Brown, a regular attendee at the event was unable to be present. Sadly too, this was the penultimate event for caterers Rob and Tracey. They have served the local bowling community well, over many years, and will be much missed.
