It may have been a relatively poor season for Oakley in the Leagues but many Oakley players have been excelling in District Competitions. In the Whitchurch League Singles, Oakley is guaranteed the winner as Terry Heath will meet Nicole Rogers in the Final to be played at Oakley on Friday 10th August. Alice Lovett and Terry Heath have reached the Pairs Final to be played at Old Basing on Monday 6th August and these two along with Ashley Nethercliffe and Nicole Rogers have reached the Triples Final to be played at Kingsclere on 25th August. It is not yet known which of the 4 players who have participated to date will play in the Final. Additionally Malcolm Grime has reached the Over 60s SIngles Final.

It is a similar story in the Basingstoke and District competitions. Bob Goodyear has reached the Singles Final as have, in the Fours, Terry Heath, Ric Newson, Spencer Kerley and Ted Brown (sub Ashley Nethercliffe). Terry Varndell is in the Final of the Novice Singles whilst the Club is guaranteed a place in the Two Wood Triples Final where Duncan Wilkin's and Ric Newson's triples play each other in the semi final. Also in semi finals are Ashley Nethercliffe in the Champion of Champions and Sean Lassman and Bob Goodyear and Terry Heath and Ted Brown in the Pairs

The Club congratulates its players on their success so far and hopes they lift the titles
