After a good run in this year's County Men's Singles, Ric, today at Banister Park, was unsuccessful in his bid to reach the Nationals at Leamington for the second successive year. In a quality, well fought, quarter-final, his opponent Phil Hunt of Southampton Sports Centre clinched the game on the last end and with the last bowl by trailing the jack when Ric held 3, giving Phil a 21-17 victory. Ric was naturally disappointed to lose but he put up a great performance and is to be congratulated on again flying the club flag at the "Last Eights"
