After all the hard work of our Recruitment Sub Committee, comprising John Yarrall, Peter and Ruth Bown, Christine Williams and Sue Dixon, it was so disappointing that cold and wet weather over both days severely impacted upon the numbers visiting the club for the Open Weekend run in conjunction with the Oakley Community Association's Sports Weekend. Still, at least we were able to operate - the Cricket Club sadly were unable to accept visitors.

Club members were brilliant in supporting the weekend, with over half the membership turning up at sometime over the two days and showing those visitors who braved the weather how supportive our membership is.. To date we have 5 new members confirmed and interestingly their feed back revealed that no single advertising medium attracted them. Facebook, adverts in Sainsbury's, articles in Link and word of mouth were all reasons given for people visiting the green .Hopefully the weather will be kinder for the Bowls4Fun course that begins on 8th May
