Last evening at Malshanger, Oakley took on Old Basing in the Gazette Cup - the three triples knock out cup organised by the North Hants Women's Bowling Association. The early stages were cagey with Oakley leading by just 2 shots after 5 ends, a lead that was increased to 7 by 10 ends. At 15 ends the Lead was only 10 shots which meant the game could go either way but a flurry of Oakley scores over the last three ends saw an eventual Oakley win of 62-35. Oakley scores: Jo Holland, Sandra Lee and Val Ryan won 26-7, Diane Yarrell, Mary Varndell and Janie Vickers won 15-17, Nicole Rogers, Heather Statham and Alice Lovett won 21-11.
