Tonight at Loddon Vale Indoor BC in the Cusheon Trophy, the indoor competition for outdoor clubs (!), Oakley "A" shot out of the blocks and after just 7 ends were leading 17-0. However their opponents were a team from the host club, Loddon Vale, and once the hosts picked up four shots on the 8th end they went on to their favourite long jacks and dominated to such an extent that by the 17th end Oakley led by just one shot 20 -19. A score on the 18th end gave Oakley the jack and they moved the mat up the green and shortened the jack and this was sufficient to allow the team to run out to a 27 - 20 victory. In this competiton Oakley have used only 5 players and tonights team was June Harvie, Dave Harrison, Bob Goodyear and Ashley Nethercliffe. In the other semi final Basingstoke Town won comfortably against Howard Park, so for the fourth successive year it will be an Oakley vs Town Final.
