Despite many being on holiday, Friday saw 75 members, friends and guests turn up at the Malshanger Club for a visit by the popular Freddie Clarke band. Locally based, this was their third visit to the club - they found it this time! - and they lived up to their reputation entertaining us with a wide range of numbers from the 60s and 70s, all of which seemed to be well remembered by those present! Half way through the evening, supper was delivered from Olivers Fish Restaurant at Old Basing and we all tucked into fish/sausage/chicken and chips, as well as having cake to celebrate Gladys and David Clewer's 60th Wedding Anniversary, before once again carrying on with the dancing. At the conclusion of the evening Vice President Peter Bown thanked both the Social Committee for all its work in organising another successful event and the gentlemen who gave up their evening to keep us supplied with drinks. All photographs kindly supplied by Norman Frost.
