This morning. in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight semi-final of the Champion of Champions, Nicole Rogers faced a tough match against Cowplain's Pamela Lambshead, a former County Singles winner and current Johns Trophy skip. After the heavy overnight rain it was thought likely to be difficult to judge the pace of the green and so it proved. Pam, who plays at her home green on an artificial surface struggled in the early stages and by 7 ends Nicole had established a 11-0 lead. Pam, however, then began to feel the pace and by 12 ends had reduced the deficit to 5 shots. Five ends later Nicole led only 16-14 and it looked as if the more experienced player might come through to triumph. However a score of four from Nicole put her back in the driving seat and she won 21-14. Nicole will now play the County Final at Malshanger against a player from Totland Bay. We wish her good luck. Another win will see her at Leamington.
