NICOLE GOES OUT IN NATIONAL SEMI FINAL

This morning at Leamington, Nicole Rogers moved a step closer to the dream of bringing a National title back to Oakley when, in the quarter final of the Women's National Junior Singles, she defeated K Sturtridge of Cornwall 21-14. Her semi final, against 16 years old Issie White of Worcestershire, saw Nicole make a strong start and leading 18-12 hopes were high that she would make it to the Final. However her opponent was made of strong stuff and fought back so well that Nicole did not score again and went down to a 18-21 defeat. Such consolation as there was came from the fact that Issie eventually lifted the title coming back from a 3-9 deficit to win 21-12.. Disappointed as Nicole will be, the Club congratulates her on reaching a second National outdoor semi final in two seasons .
