It was always going to be a tough day for Nicole Rogers in the National Junior Singles at Leamington where she found herself in a difficult part of the draw. In the morning she was up against fellow Junior International Paige Dennis of Kent and recorded a comfortable 21-8 win. The afternoon was a different story as she met one of the favourites, the twice World Indoor Singles Champion Katherine Rednall of Suffolk. They had met once before in the quarter final of the National Indoor Junior Singles which was played in sets and won by Katherine. A switch to the 21 shot format, however, made little difference as Katherine was always in command and, try as she did, Nicole went down to a 7-21 defeat and bowed out of the event.
