Having successfully recruited 25 new members this year, the Officers and Committee were delighted that, on Thursday evening, almost all these new members, together with their mentors, were able to join us in a "Getting To Know You" evening. Our club coaches Ruth, Martin and Sue, who have been looking after the new members over the last few weeks, had organised some "novelty " bowls to enable members to interact more than they might do in a normal game and this seemed to go very well. Following the bowling we all retired to the Malshanger Clubhouse for drinks and nibbles, where again everyone seemed to enjoy the opportunity to become better acquainted. For Thursdays in July and the first week of August our coaches are organising structured coacing to encourage players to think about shot selection and how best to read a head. This coaching is aimed not just at new bowlers but at all members who feel they may have something to learn. Details of the sessions will be emailed shortly to members.
