The Club Drawn Triples is always a popular competition, as evidenced by the fact that this year we had a waiting list for the event. The draw is done in such a way as to ensure that all bowlers new to the game are paired with experienced players and it is almost impossible to predict which teams will come out on top, particularly on a day when we played in warm sunshine interspersed with showers. There were two leagues with the winners from each League moving into the Final. The Blue league was won comfortably by Wendy Aherne, Peter Pearce and Bob Goodyear but in the Red League, it was so close with two teams tied on points with Bob Aylmer, Lesley Dumelow and Sean Lassman having on shots difference a one shot advantage over the team skipped by Keith Turnbull. It was Bob's triple that emerged triumphant in the final so for Wendy and Peter, both of whom only began bowling this year, it was a memorable day. The Club's congratulations go to all the finalists and our thanks to our Competition Secretary, Kay, for organising the event.
