There were mixed fortunes this weekend for Oakley bowlers. At Howard Park John Ryan's triple was well beaten by Basingstoke Town in the semi final of the Basingstoke and District Two Bowl triples and there was a similar outcome at Old Basing for Lesley Dumelow, Jo Holland, Val Ryan and Laura Butler in the semi of the NHWBA triples. 3-14 down to Pyestock they rallied to level on 14-14 but went down to a last end one shot defeat.

On Sunday it was again back to Old Basing, for the Whitchurch and District Finals, where Janie Vickers, Sue Dixon and Jim Dixon beat Alton Social to lift the Triples title, whilst Gerald Norris and Graham Tompkins beat Basingstoke Town to win the Open Pairs. A hat trick of victories proved elusive as Gerald and Graham playing their second game of the day went down to defeat to Howard Park in the Aussie Pairs.
