This morning at Atherley, four Oakley players were competing in the County Junior Pairs events and looking to bag a place at Leamington for the National Championships. For Ashley Nethercliffe, playing with Reece Graham from Alton Social there was disappointment as they missed out 16-18 in the semi final of the Junior Men's Junior Pairs and the draw did the club few favours in the Junior Women's event with Nicole Rogers and Heather Statham finding themselves drawn in the semi against clubmate Alice Lovett and Anna Redman from Bridgemary substituting for Oakley's Lorna Devonish who was unavailable. This was a particulrly close game with the two Johns Trophy players Nicole and Heather edging it 15-14. The final, however, was a different matter with the Oakley players overwhelming their less experienced opponents from Milton Park to win 30-4. The Club wishes our girls good luck at the Nationals.
