Today at Malshanger, 36 members competed in the one day Open Triples Competition. It was a sunny morning as play started with the players, having been drawn out of the hat, competing in 2 leagues of 6 teams. One league was very tight with skips John Wilson and Angie Rowe level on points and Angie qualifying for the Final as the result of a one shot advantage. The other league saw Ted Trantum's triple win all their games and with Ted, having been in the last three finals and won the event for the last 2 years, his team began the Final as favourites. In the event, however, it was the triple of Ron Baxter, Jim Dixon and Angie Rowe that emerged triumphant with a 4 shot win over Peter Stewart, Jim Fitzgerald and Ted Trantum. The Clubs congratulations go to the finalists and our thanks to Kay Kerley for doing all the pre event organisation, to Peter Bown for running things on the day and to all who helped with catering and bar
