On Friday night Oakley BC travelled to Andover for the quarter final of the Cup. The green was very fast, with even regular indoor players struggling with the pace, and with Ric Newson's rink making a slow start things did not look good. However, after 6 ends, Oakley had sneaked into a one shot lead and, by 12 ends, the lead had increased to 19 shot. From there it was Oakley's game to lose. Andover fought hard but were unable to reduce the deficit, with Oakley running out 66-37 winners.
Oakley scores: Jamie Fewtrell, Malcolm Grime, Steve Devonshire and Martin Vickers won 25-9; Gary Newson, Jim Dixon, Spencer Kerley and Ric Newson won 23-17; Peter Pearce, Hugh Aherne, Rolf Denny and Sean Lassman won 18-11.
