GAZETTE CUP WIN FOR LADIES

Tonight at Malshanger, Oakley took on Alton Social in the Gazette Cup, the three triples team event run by the North Hampshire Women's Bowling Association. The Oakley triples skipped by Claire Flannigan and Kay Kerley began well and, although Val Ryan's triple was struggling, Oakley led 21-13 after 6 ends. Little had changed by halfway but over the next few ends all three triples scored well with Val's rink recovering from their earlier deficit to such an extent that by 15 ends Oakley led 57-31. The game was now all but over and, with two ends left to play on Val's triple, Social conceded the game with Oakley winning 63-41.

Oakley Scores: Janie Vickers, Angie Rowe and Clare Flannigan won 19-12, Nicole Rogers, Christine Williams and Kay Kerley wom 24-14, Laura Butler, Jo Holland and Val Ryan won 20-15.
