On Sunday the Club's Two Wood Pairs event, where players partners are drawn from a hat, was held at our green at Malshanger. We were blessed with good weather but the Competition Secretary was disappointed with the turnout which was 30% down on previous years, with only about a fifth of members participating. Those who did play were divided into two leagues playing six games and it was a tight call in both leagues, Eventually a family battle ensued as Sue Dixon and Stan Mond met Wendy Lowin and Jim Dixon in the Final with the latter triumphing and winning the prestigious Malshange Bowl, presented to the Club by Sir Michael and Lady Colman. Thanks go to all who helped in organising and running the event.
