The Club's Two Wood Drawn Pairs began this morning in chilly conditions but as the day went on it become warmer and by mid afternoon those who had failed to come through the League Sections were able to sit out in the sunshine and watch the semi-finals and final. 40 members entered the competition and were divided into 4 leagues of 5, with the names to make up each pair having been drawn from the hat and with each game comprising 8 ends. In the first semi-final Carolyn Ford and Janie Vickers beat Sue Dixon and Ric Newson 7-3 whilst in the other it was Christine Williams and Barry Lee who triumphed by 10-3 over Jo Holland and Keith Bringes. The Final was expected to be a close encounter but Christine and Barry were in fine form and won comfortably by 9 shots to 2. Summing up the afternoon President Jim Fitzgerald congratulated the Finalists and paid thanks to Competition Secretary Kay for her organisation and to Margaret and those who had helped with catering.
